Starfish is our luxury residence for women. Each villa offers a fully furnished, spacious setting with marble and hardwood flooring, deluxe bathrooms, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and fully equipped kitchens.
All residents enjoy a private bedroom with large flat screen televisions, new high-end finishes and furnishings with oversized closets and premium bedding. Our Starfish villas are professionally cleaned bi-weekly. In addition to the exceptional setting and optimal location, Starfish offers women in recovery transitional assistance in becoming well integrated into the recovery community and local environment.
We provide support in job search, medical appointments, and connections with therapists and intensive outpatient programs.
Our staff has strong ties to the vibrant women’s recovery community and coordinates initial transportation to 12-Step meetings where residents will be introduced to potential sponsors and amazing sober supports. We know that this is a vital and integral step in developing a firm foundation in recovery.
One day an older woman was walking down the beach just before dawn. In the distance she saw a young lady picking up stranded starfish and throwing them back into the sea. As the older woman approached the young lady, she asked, “Why do you spend so much energy doing what seems to be a waste of time?” The young lady explained that the stranded starfish would die if left in the morning sun. The older woman exclaimed, “But there must be thousands of starfish. How can your efforts make any difference?” The young lady looked down at the starfish in her hand and as she threw it to safety in the sea, she said,” It makes a difference to this one!”
